Wk 3B - Defining My Target Market
After researching what target markets are and how they benefit businesses, I have gained more knowledge. I currently do not own a business myself; however, I would like to in the future, and am already doing some outside research and working on my own. I am very familiar with the clothing business area and would like to create my own clothing brand in the near future. Some may say it has become an oversaturated area; however, I believe a business like this can still thrive, especially with a well-thought-out and refined target audience. I have followed many brands that start out with few resources and, within a few weeks, gain a loyal following. I've figured that the content they are posting and their consistency have to do with a lot of that growth. Many have established their target market.
If I were to start now, I would first create a brand name that stands out but also sticks with the type of clothes being made, whether it's streetwear, casual, or business. The name or logo would have to look brandable and look great on clothing. I think the name should also have a message that really connects with the target audience I am aiming for. Once the name is established, I would have to design clothes that I would see my target audience wearing. I could do some research, looking at the clothes they already wear or their lifestyle. For the content, I would post videos of people in the clothes and match the specific aesthetic and lifestyle of my target audience. I would include background music, behaviors, or other interests that my target audience is familiar with.
