Week 8: Using LinkedIn and YouTube
Last week, we researched conversational social media platforms, and I learned that they are able to create an authentic and loyal relationship between a business and its supporters. Other platforms, such as LinkedIn and YouTube, are other ways to build this relationship. After researching both platforms, I believe that YouTube can be the most effective for the brand that I am building because it could help expand my audience, it allows for creative ideas for my brand, and it allows me to share my knowledge that can help others succeed as well.
YouTube is one of the most utilized platforms globally, with more than 2.5 billion monthly active users. It is a great platform to widen your audience for your business. It allows the content of your brand to reach more people, which can increase the awareness of your brand. Of course, more awareness can help increase sales, but it also brings in people who trust your brand and are interested in the progress of the brand. It creates an authentic community.
To allow people to keep coming back, I believe that the content someone puts out is the most important thing, out of anything else. I think that creating content that is creative will help keep people engaged. To help build the authenticity of my business, I would base my content around my brand, but also include a glimpse of my personal life. I already see many clothing brand owners film "Day in the Life" and "Behind the Scenes" type videos, which is something I'm inspired to create. In these videos, they show their life as a brand owner and share the creation behind their designs and ideas. I've also seen many videos of them recording their live reaction to their drop days. They show the progress of their sales, which I think is inspiring. Most may think it's them showing off, but I think it's to inspire viewers that they can achieve it too. I think that this could help build a genuine relationship between the brand owner and viewer, as well as trust towards the brand.
A key factor I want my brand to be based on is to inspire others. The core meaning behind the name of my brand, "Tied In Forever," is to have unbreakable loyalty to your goals. I think that creating content like "How to design" or "Tips on how to start a brand" can help me spread the knowledge that I have and inspire others who have the same goals. I already see a lot of brand owners post this type of content, and it can honestly be helpful. I think that posting this type of content can help build credibility and trust towards your brand because people are seeing the process.
Overall, I believe that YouTube can be beneficial and effective for a clothing brand. It helps viewers engage with the process of the brand. It allows for more creative freedom for the content of the brand, which can separate business owners from others in the industry.
